How to deal with jealous coworkers

Know how to deal with jealous coworkers who are scared of you

As you start to break the rules, there will be extra anxiety coming your way through jealous and scared coworkers. The fact is that some people just cannot be trusted. But you can protect yourself once you know how to deal with jealous coworkers.

Never share your personal views in the business environment

Just remember that backstabbers will always be trying to gather your secrets along with your controversial professional views. These will be used against you when needed. Thus you need to say less as that will protect you more.

Be more careful if circumstances are difficult

In case your firm is undergoing difficult times, be extra careful. Desperation brings out several latent backstabbing tendencies even in normally kind colleagues as they wish to hold on to their job no matter what.

Be careful of your supervisors too

Even your supervisors can backstab you as frequently as your colleagues. You must be on the alert all the time.

Be a part of the grapevine

Be aware of office politics. Once your jealous colleagues know that you keep your ears and eyes open and know all that is happening in office politics, they will think twice before backstabbing you. In addition, it will admittedly help if you remain updated on all the useful info about any kind of restructuring or layoffs about to take place. Just receive gossip, but make sure that you do not spread it though!

Know how to deal with jealous coworkers by doing good deeds for others.

If you are known for doing favors for other people, they will like to add you to their team. In addition, you are also creating a more positive environment in the workplace.

Let go of people you do not trust

This may not always be in your hand. But if possible, you can try to pick up those you wish to work with.

Make friends with all your co-workers

Do not create good relationships with just your boss and colleagues. You must make friends with secretaries, assistants, office clerks and so on. They have a grip on the pulse of the office always. In addition, you never know when you would need someone in case any difficult situation arises.

Deal with jealous colleagues by recognizing them early

Pay attention to the body language of people around you. This way you would be able to identify your jealous colleagues and get a lot more information about them. See if they scratch their nose while talking to you. They will not be able to look you straight in the eye and fidget a lot while they talk.

As you can see, there are many ways in which you can deal with such coworkers. You only need to be attentive and be careful with people around you. Know how to manage this issue to keep yourself safe and happy.
